Cherry CD Case Evolution
This dresser is actually a CD storage unit. Each of the large drawers holds up to 150 CD’s. The partitions are removable for storage of other items. To allow for the weight of the CD’s, each drawer is mounted on a full extension, under-mount, self-closing drawer slide. The drawers are joined together utilizing half-blind dovetails.
We crafted the cabinet out of distressed cherry and pecan. The drawer fronts were actually one piece of lumber. Distressed cherry refers to the lumber having imperfections. Whenever possible, we like to use the lumber’s features as Mother Nature created them.
The collage shown is the genesis of a piece of furniture.
