These end tables and coffee table are crafted from the same batch of black walnut. The center piece of each table is from one black walnut slab that we book-matched. What you see is the actual grain coloration of the wood. The inlay is sugar maple.


One of the beautiful aspects of black walnut is its contrasting sap wood. Depending on where the tree grows, the heartwood can vary from dark brown to light brown with purple, orange and gray streaks.
The lines on these tables are simple; we used mortise and tenon joinery to attach the legs and skirts. Then, we finished the tables with a clear satin lacquer.
